A reminder to all that our next session of Digital Learning (Basic) is coming up in February. Before we meet I would like each of you send email me a brief description of the type of project you want to work on, what resources you have already found and what you might need for that day.
Sorry, but I have not yet found a topic yet, I know you have sent some info which I will get to when I finish report cards.
I'm sure I will need assistance

5 or 6 person groups will be creating a WWII brochure with each side representing a different war theme. The themes are WWII on the Home front, role of women, role of African-Americans, New Weapons, The Axis Leaders, and the Allied Leaders. It will be a research project that can be differentiated with the easier themes being used for the lower level kids.
I would love to get an i-web set up for my personal school site. This would be an opportunity to look professional instead of having a website that is 5 years old. Thanks so much!

I think I would like to work on my web page to update it. I would also like to try digital storytelling. I took a workshop on it but haven't used it and need a refresher.
Glenn,
I did my project on podcasting. I did it for my evaluation. I used Garageband to record my students reading a passage cold, listen to it, practice and then read it again. The goal was to improve oral reading.
Students will be using multiple sources to investigate/research a disease. They will then decide on a format to present the information with their classmates. Brochure, powerpoint, podcast, etc...
The students will imagine they are engineers for a toy car company. The company is trying to beat the competition by building a new toy car. Several new designs will be tested. Each group will be given one of the new toy cars and instructed to measure its speed and acceleration. When they are finished with the testing they will create a presentation to sell/advertise their toy car. Possibly a powerpoint presentation or imovie commercial.
I will be looking at ways to assess students' oral proficiency. I have looked at some of the websites which you e-mailed.
Sites which allow students to leave a recording of their work would be beneficial.
